RECIPE: A Stress-Relieving Smoothie with Powerful Adaptogens

Marek Vodicka, 4. 3. 2025

Adaptogenic herbs, such as Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea), Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), and Holy Basil (Ocimum tenuiflorum), have gained popularity for their ability to help the body adapt to stressors. These herbs work by modulating the body’s response to stress, promoting a balanced and resilient state. Whether in the form of capsules, teas, or tinctures, integrating adaptogens into your daily routine can provide a natural buffer against the challenges of a hectic lifestyle.

Adaptogenic Stress-Relieving Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon Ashwagandha powder
  • 1 teaspoon Rhodiola powder
  • 1 teaspoon Holy Basil (Tulsi) powder
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries)
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional for sweetness)
  • 1 cup almond milk or any milk of your choice
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, combine the Ashwagandha, Rhodiola, and Holy Basil powders.
  2. Add the banana, frozen berries, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, and honey or maple syrup, if using.
  3. Pour in the milk.
  4. Blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy.
  5. If a colder smoothie is preferred, add a handful of ice cubes and blend again.
  6. Pour the smoothie into a glass, garnish with a sprinkle of chia seeds or a few berries, if desired.
  7. Enjoy this stress-relieving elixir!
